First note
Meet Cogumi Image: make images by chatting or drawing, right in your browser
August 18, 2026
Two free on-device image tools with two mental models and one image out. Text Studio for words, Sketch Studio for whiteboards. Nothing leaves your browser.
There is no single right way to think about an image. Sometimes you know exactly what you want and the words are right there. Other times the idea is too rough for language, and you need to put a line down before it will take shape.
Cogumi Image gives you both ways in, and they live right in your browser, with no account, no upload, and no server doing the thinking. Two mental models, one image out.
Text Studio: chat your way to an image
If you think in words, Text Studio is for you.
Describe what you want in plain language, then refine it turn by turn, the way you'd iterate with a collaborator. Say something vague and the tool helps you find the shape of it; keep talking until the image matches the picture in your head. Fast drafts appear as you go, and a crisp, high-fidelity render arrives when you're ready.
The images are made on your device. Your prompts, your drafts, and your final picture never leave your browser.
Sketch Studio: draw it out
If the idea is still half-formed, Sketch Studio is the honest starting point.
Rough it out on the whiteboard, a quick composition, a shape, or a color, then pick a style chip or type a short direction like "photorealistic" or "cyberpunk." Watch it come to life live as you draw, then polish it with one high-quality pass. Your line work is the seed; the tool grows it into something finished.
Sketch Studio uses SDEdit, which means the structure of your drawing survives the transformation. It's not guessing from scratch; it's reinterpreting what you actually put down.
One engine, both studios
Both tools are powered by the same on-device pipeline: a small language model that helps shape prompts, a text encoder, and a Tiny-SD diffusion model, all running locally in your browser on WebGPU. There's no image-generation server and no queue. The model files download once, then every image you make is computed on your own machine.
That matters for more than privacy. It means the tools work for free, stay fast, and keep your work in your hands. Sessions, drafts, and finished images are stored locally in your browser.
Two mental models, one image out
- Think in words? Open Text Studio and chat your way there.
- Think in shapes? Open Sketch Studio and draw your way there.
- Either way: it's free, private, and finished images are yours to keep.
Cogumi Image is our way of saying that making images should feel as natural as the way you think, with words if that's your language, and lines if that's yours.
